About GLG America

Hello. My name is Michael Kuhn. My guess is that if you are reading this page, you might be wondering what is GLG America? Who is this Michael Kuhn? Why did he call me? Or, maybe you read one of my articles and are curious about who is writing them.

Whatever the reason, I first want to take time to thank you for visiting GLGAmerica.com.

GLG America's primary focus is to offer workplace benefits like life, disability income, critical illness, accident, supplemental health and other insurance to employees through employer groups. I also help individuals get their own life insurance, work with agents to build their own books of business such as mine as well as try to create good content for this website.

Whether you are an employer, individual or agent, I hope to help you if I can. To better structure things here on my website, I've developed these pages as starting points to provide you with more detailed information.

My goal with this website is to build the best resource I can about workplace benefits, insurance and a few other topics I'm interested in sharing with you. Similar resources I read online are written by freelance writers who don't actually work in the field they write about. While most are very knowledgable, I wanted to provide a resource written from an agent's perspective who actually works in the industry.

If there's a topic you'd like to know more about or if I need to do a better job explaining a topic, don't hesitate to let me know.

GLG America is an Endorsed Program and Associate Member of the Association of Indiana Counties. We are also a long time supporter of the Indiana Auditors' Association and are a Silver Associate Member. I've also collected quite a few reference letters from my clients which are available upon request and I've also listed a few excerpts from those letters on my testimonials page.

We've also been quoted in several resources online who turned to us for our expertise in the benefits arena. Websites like Monster.com and InsuranceQuotes.com have looked to us as expert resources. I've listed links to some of those pages we've been mentioned in our Press Room.

If you are interested in learning more about me, I provided more information below.

About Me

I'm originally from a small town in Indiana called Morristown. Morristown is best known for the Kopper Kettle Inn and the fried chicken at the Bluebird Restaurant. I currently live in Fishers which is an award winning city in Indiana. Now, If we only had the an ocean view!

After I graduated from high school, I began my career working at a small community bank. While I was there, I worked my way up to being a loan officer and put myself through college. I eventually graduated cum laude from the University of Indianapolis with an Economics & Finance degree where I was also given the Financial Executives Institute Award which sounds cool but I have no idea what that is! Unfortunately, no cash came with that award! I was also fortunate enough to graduate from the Graduate School of Banking in Wisconsin when I was about 25 years old. (Most attendees were over 40 at the time and it was great opportunity.)

Eventually, I decided to leave my high paying job at the bank (sarcasm intended) and decided to get my insurance license. Most people thought I was crazy to go into the insurance business, but it's a decision I'm happy I made. Since then, thanks to the help and support of all my clients, I've been lucky enough to be honored with top awards from three different insurance companies for submitting substantial and good quality business to them.

At first, I just wrote individual life insurance and annuities but in 1995, I was introduced to a guaranteed issue permanent life insurance program and have focused on that ever since. In particular, the main thing that I've noticed employees need is guaranteed issue. And for that reason, I've offered a permanent life insurance program through employers as my flagship offering for more than 20 years.

During that time, I've been able to work with several thousand employees all over the United States including hospitals, government entities, transit authorities, manufacturers and numerous other types of businesses.

Outside of work, I enjoy working on websites, watching the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts and playing NBA2K on the Playstation.

Enough about me though. I'd love to hear from you about what you need. Don't hesitate to reach out to me as well as follow me on social media. I have accounts on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn.
